Making the Most of Public Domain and Private Label Content! © 2005 - David Isaacs http://www.infinite-revenue.com
As you may already know... on the internet content is KING.
If you can provide a continual stream of quality content on your site, not only will your visitors keep returning. so with
the search engines. As a result you have a higher chance of gaining a high search engine listing.
But providing a new fresh content on a regular basis can be a difficult task. Let's face it, if you're working a day-time job, as most internet marketers are, then it can be almost impossible to create new unique articles or reports for you site.
So what's the answer? Simple...
... Public Domain and Private Label content!
Using these strategies is the simplest, easiest and
fastest method of obtaining safe copyright f'ree content
that you can instantly use. Below is a brief explanation of
each content source...
1. Public Domain Content -
If the content you are using is available in the public
domain, then there is no copyright on these works and
you're free to use it in any legal way you want.
Where can you find this type of content? If you are
inexperienced in finding or identifying Public Domain works
it can be difficult to find, but here are a few links to
get you started:

2. Private Label Rights -
Private Label rights is an extremely low cost method of
gaining instant quality content related to the topic of
your niche site.
This gives you the opportunity to name yourself as the
author, use the content in another product or rewrite the
whole thing. The possibilities are endless. Just be aware
that you will need to look at the terms and conditions of
what you are allowed to do with the product before you buy.
Alternatively you could join one of the many membership
sites that offer Public Domain works or Private Label
Rights. For as little as $27 per month you can access a
virtual unlimited supply of quality content for your site,
so it's an extremely cost effective method of gaining
instant copyright f'ree content.
Ok. So you've got your content ready to go and you've
checked your rights and permissions, but there is one more
thing to think about. Duplicate content.
While it makes good sense to use Private Label content on
your site, you can be penalized by the search engines if
you have identical content to that of other sites. You see,
while sites such as CopyScape.com can check for duplicate
content on the internet, so can the search engines.
This could mean that if discovered, which it will, the
search engines will not rate your site as highly because
the exact same content is available elsewhere. So you need
to be aware of this when using content you haven't
personally created.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't go ahead and make the
most of all that wonderful information at your fingertips.
So what options do you have to use this content for
maximum benefit?
You could just read the information to learn from it
yourself; you could read it to get ideas for business, or
use the content as the basis to create additional articles
or reports, etc. The list is limited only by your
imagination.
Here are some suggestions on what you can create using
Private Label or Public Domain content:
- PDF reports
- Print books
- Presentations
- Membership sites
- Face to face courses
- Mini ecourses
- Teleclass content
- Webcast content
- Podcast content
- Blog content
- Content for your autoresponder
- Ezine content
- Articles for your site to build AdSense pages
- Viral reports
- Tips lists
When it comes to using all the content you have gathered,
you need to look through it all and decide what you want to
produce. If you plan to use content from more than one
source, such as to combine 2 or 3 articles by different
authors into a report, you will need to go through and
change the content into a similar style.
You will also need to check that it is all written in the
same tense, make sure the formatting is the same
throughout, check for spelling and grammar and look through
all the articles to see if any of the points made are
duplicated.
Once you've done this, make a list of points you want to
make in your report, read the articles through again and
start combining them together to fit what you want to say
and then cut and paste to copy sections into the right
place.
Next, look at the way your draft reads and see if it fits
your style of writing, your personality and your business.
Re-word it to fit your niche - there's no point in
producing a very formally written, stiff sounding report
for a hobby site.
At this point you could just tweak it, proof read it, and
then go ahead and publish it. But to take it a step further
and make it really unique, why not look at how you might
rewrite it so that all of the content is yours.
As you've already got the basic idea down and laid out, it
shouldn't take you long to re-word things, add in some of
your own ideas and keywords that fit your site. Maybe you
could add a few quotes and suddenly you're looking at
something that no-one else has got that the search engines
will love and that no-one can claim you copied.
Time to start creating!
