Niche marketing at its best helps to solve real problems that real people face and live with everyday. If you can come up with a product or service in a niche market that will help people solve their problems - and they are willing to pay for it -Â then you that basis for a very profitable online niche business.
The things that people view as ‘problems’ can encompass everything from interior decorating to chronic insomnia, and more often than not, people are searching for solutions to their problems.
All you need to do is to identify these problems and provide a solution. But how can you do this?
A good way to find out what people consider a problem is to visit online forums relating to your chosen niche. People talk about anything and everything online as it gives them anonymity, so forums give them the avenue to express their concerns.
By visiting forums and taking note of what people are most concerned about you can search the internet for information that will help them solve these problems.
Once you have gather information, write articles about your topic - or have written for you. In this way you can build a content-rich website for niche marketing that helps to provide solutions to this problem.
Naturally you would monetize the pages on your site, as well as include an optin box to build your list so that you can sell them on the backend to multiply your profits.
An additional way to use forums to help you build a niche market website is to join a forum, and post a question about a popular topic that is being discussed. This way you may receive many more responses regarding your topic and you could use these to create an ebook or report on this subject.
The fact is that many people will buy an ebook that is filled with information they find useful, even if they could actually gather for themselves as it saves them time - and to most people their time is very valuable.

Before commencing any business, it’s wise to envision exactly where you want your business to be in the future. That’s because, everyday you should be doing something to move you closer to where you want to be long-term.
Without some fundamental things in place, no matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to deliver the type of service that will keep your customers coming back for more. So the very first thing you need to do when you commence your own online business is setup a basic infrastructure so that you can effectively manage your business.
Below are two key things you really need to know.
1) Invest in a decent web-hosting company!
If you’re serious about doing business online then forget about FREE web hosting. Trust us when we say - you’ll regret it real fast! There’s a place for FREE hosting, don’t get us wrong - but it has no place whatsoever in the world of online business. Look at it this way, would you buy from someone who couldn’t afford to pay a few bucks for some professional hosting? You’d probably think (like most would) that the product can’t be up to much if the owner can’t afford to pay for professional hosting for it. And nine times out of ten, you’d be right!
You see - in the long run, free hosting isn’t FREE at all. Ultimately you’re still paying! You’re making someone else rich by plastering ads promoting other people’s businesses all over your website as a “payment” for the free web hosting.
So - forget FREE hosting right now it’ll only end in tears ?
I personally recommend Hostgator.com (http://www.hostgator.com) however your best bet is to ask around and find out how happy others you know are with their current web host.
Whatever you do, just make sure that you get an account with at least 200MB of storage space and at least 3GB of bandwidth. This should be enough to get you started but you will probably require more in the future depending on what it is you are planning to sell from your site. Most good hosts will allow you to upgrade as your needs increase.
A handy feature to look out for too is Fantastico. This service allows you to easily setup a whole raft of scripts on your hosting account without the need to have any indepth knowledge on how to install scripts. In most cases you’ll just need to enter a folder name (so that the script can create a directory for itself on your domain) and you’re done!
2) Automate as much as humanly possible!
There are SO many advantages to owning an online business that it’s hard to understand why anyone would want to start any sort of “physical business” these days. But the REAL beauty of owning an online business is that you can automate just about every aspect of it especially if you are simply selling a few digital products. Imagine making money while you sleep, eat or are lying on the beach! It REALLY IS possible but to prevent you from being tied to your business, you’re going to want to invest in a few things to help improve automation.
A decent Autoresponder script will save you a ton of time and is well worth the small investment.
Here are a few of the better ones:
AdTrackResponderPRO - Packed with features, this script offers true value for money and unbelievable support. The product creator Steve Hetrick is a man after my own heart and truly stands by his product! You won’t get better value for money and features anywhere else. If you’re serious about splashing out on your very own Autoresponder script, this would most definitely be our top pick. More details can be found at http://www.adtrackresponderpro.com
Aweber - Packed with great features and highly respected. The downside is that you do not have any control as this Autoresponder is hosted on a domain you do not own. You’re also going to be paying a small monthly fee but if you want to break free of having to maintain your own Autoresponder then this is definitely a good option to consider. In simple terms, pre-selling is the work you must start doing before you release and sell your product - naturally that’s why it’s called pre-selling.
You need to build up anticipation and to convince your potential customers that your product or service has great benefits that would solve the problems they may be facing so that they are in the buying mood before they reach your product site.
Pre-selling is not only about selling your product, it’s also about selling yourself to your readers and customers.
When you sell yourself to the customer, you are making your customers think “okay, this guy is not one of those greedy marketers. He’s actually here to help me.” so that they will let their guard down and listen to your sales pitch.
Pre-selling is also the art of building up anticipation.
For instance - if a friend told you his chronic headache has been solved overnight by “some new medicine” but did not mention what it really was, would that leave you wondering what the medicine really is? Particularly if you suffer from chronic headache yourself!
That’s why by mentioning a benefit that has the power to solve your prospects’ problems or able to satisfy their needs - without revealing what the solution is - will get your prospects dying to hear what you have to say next as you reveal slightly more about the solution each time.
When you finally uncover the whole ‘box and dice’, your prospects will be crawling all over your website looking for the buy button!
However, pre-selling is not just about unveiling your product bit by bit. In fact, that is only one of the various ways one can pre-sell.
For example, you might run a weekly newsletter on acne problems and coincidentally you have just written this great ebook called “10 Ways to Solve Acne Woes Once and For All”.
In your newsletter, you can pre-sell by including a snippet or two from your ebook and mention that it as a viable solution to acne problems. If people get good advice from your newsletter, they will perceive you as an expert on acne problems and naturally will be curious to find out the ways you can teach them to solve their problems.
At the end of the day, it all boils down to giving value to people before you ask people to buy something from you. If you can help people to solve their problems and earn their trust, they will more often than not be very willing to buy products from you.

When all is said and done, most people create an online business for one purpose -to make money. Some want to make a few extra bucks, others want to make a full-time income.
But regardless of everyone’s individual goals, I think you will agree that we all want to make additional income from our online businesses.
In order to do this you need to sell. Whether it’s a product, a services or just to get someone to take a desired action - it’s all about being able to sell whatever it is your promoting.
So needless to say that it is very important to use powerful selling words to really convey each and every little benefit of your product to convince your visitors to take action.
And it is not uncommon to see popular trigger words like “unbelievable” and “sensational” or other similar words in most great salesletters.
There is a fine line in using hype on your sales pages and if used responsibly it can indeed be a poweful tool that can explode your conversion rates and skyrocket your profits. Notice the hype I used then
However there are a number of marketers who cross this line and purposely use hype to mislead their readers. For example:
Not so long ago a fellow collegue of mine contacted me and asked me to check out his new website where he was promoting a new ebook he had just created on earning an income from selling red widgets. (I’m protecting the interests of my collegue so this is not what the report was really about)
When I visited his site the first thing that interested me was his sales copy The salesletter was very good in that it targeted my emotions and promised that “everything I have ever wanted” could be obtained just by purchasing the ebook and implementing what I learned.
The salesletter also gave the impression that the author owned a garage full of sports cars, luxurious mansions and he spent most of their time on tropical holidays by the sea.
The problem was that I knew this collegue personally. He is actually a electronics salesman struggling to make ends meet and is looking to make quick buck by flogging off a report he complied using public domain information.
Naturally the alarm bells immediately started to go off and needless to say that in my view his reputation has taken a severe noise dive and I now have little trust in him. And I’m sure others have also now got the same view.
But I can only guess how many naĂŻve visitors may have been fooled into thinking this person was an authority on this subject and were sucked in to parting with the money.
The sad fact is that this is not an isolated case. There are hundreds of online marketers with low ethical standards who are waiting to take your hard-earned money by using hype to embellish the truth.
So the moral of this story is that if you’re selling anything online line, your reputation and the trust of your potential customers is EVERYTHNING. Your reputation is all you have and if it is tarnish for whatever reason, it is quite possible that your online business will never recover.
Whilst it is ok to use a small amount of hype to encourage your readers to check out what it is you are promoting, you should never mislead your visitors into thinking you are not who you say you are, or that your earning capacity is not what it really is.
Your reputation is all you have online - so don’t blow it!

Publishing your own periodical newsletter can be one of the most profitable businesses you can do online without incurring a high cost.
If you are considering starting your very own newsletter or need to reaffirm your believe about the commonly uttered mantra “the money is in the list”, then here is an undisputed fact that may just surprise you…
…the truth is that owning a mailing list is more important than owning your own the product.
Why is that?
Quite simply, if you do not own a mailing list then you do NOT own a business. Since businesses, regardless of any kind, involve people and your prospects are none other than people themselves who are your potential customers.
And it’s common knowledge that people are more likely to purchase something from a person the know and trust, than from a complete strange they know nothing about.
So it’s no surprise to learn that the more times you contact your readers with relevant information about their own wants and needs, the greater the chance of building a relationship with them.
In doing this, it is then much more likely that you will gain the trust of your readers and when you send them an email endorsing various products the more likely it is that you will make a sale.
Not only this, but if you would frequent forums often you will be well aware that product owners often want to co-operate with mailing list owners who have a list of prospects they want to create join venture opportunities.
While some product owners offer attractive incentives and commissions to mailing list owners, the point I want to drive home is that product owners need the mailing list owner more than the other way round.
And mailing list owners are much rarer than product owners, since products (even great ones) are created almost everyday and great mailing list owners don’t come by on the same frequency.
Once you start to build your own mailing list and begin to build a reputation online, you will find yourself flooded being with heaps of offers from other list owners inviting you to partner with them to promote their products or services.
